Julia H. "Jill" Stahl
Waynesville, Julia Hindman Stahl, age 54, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at her home.
A native of Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Virgil and Eslene Smith Hindmon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Buddy and Robert Hindmon. Jill met her soulmate and best friend Michael on a blind date in Memphis, Tennessee. This relationship would eventually lead to their marriage, and Jill accompanying Mike on his Naval assignment in Japan. After a nine-month honeymoon overseas, a central location was selected by Jill in eastern North Carolina where Jill’s two daughters were raised. Jill was an avid gardener, as well as a gifted seamstress and quilter, creating several beautiful heirlooms for her family. As Jill’s sickness progressed, one of her favorite past times was scheduling antique and thrift store trips with Mike. She was always looking for a bargain. Jill’s legacy will be of laughter, love, and smiles.
Jill is survived by her husband of 32 years, Michael Stahl; two daughters, Alyssabeth A. McCabe, of Four Oaks, North Carolina and Leona A. Russell, and her husband, Adam, of Waynesville; a brother, David Hindmon, and his wife, Barbara, of Lexington, Tennessee; grandson, Aleister M. Russell; her dog, Luna and two cats, Brady & Tyrion.
