Julius Jahr

Waynesville, Julius Marlyn Jahr, age 74, of Sleepy Hollow Drive, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Valley City, North Dakota, he previously resided in Parrish, Florida before moving to Haywood County in 2005. He was the son of the late Loyd and Viola Fonder Jahr. Julius served in the Air National Guard and was retired from SYSCO where he worked in Sales. He loved to golf and was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church. Julius is survived by his wife of 50 years, Roxanne VanBerkom Jahr; three sons, Troy Jahr (Tonya) of Wake Forest, North Carolina, Cory Jahr (Angie) of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina and Tracy Jahr (Tina) of Pleasant Lake, Michigan; two brothers, John Jahr of Hendersonville and Loyd Jahr of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 10, 2015 at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church with Father Richard Benonis officiating.
