Waynesville, June Trantham Winchester, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at The Homestead. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Lillian Ledford Trantham and the late Horace Trantham and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenny and Billy Trantham. She was employed at Stanley Furniture Company for more than 20 years and was a member of Beth Eden Baptist Church. June was a hard worker and had an infectious sense of humor. She will be remembered for her kind and giving spirit, always helping anyone in need. She loved her family dearly, and they will always remember her as being a wonderful, loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 12 years, Robert Dwane Winchester; three daughters, Karen Campbell, of Murphy, Teresa Garland and husband, Gerald, of Robbinsville and Amanda Parrish of Waynesville; four sons, Richard Campbell and his fiancée, Katye Lynch of Robinsville, Ray Winchester and his wife, Tina, Chris Parrish and his wife, Courtney, and Dewyane Cagle, all of Waynesville; six sisters; Blanche Evans, Lorene Kirkpatrick, Polly Massie, Patsy Best, Annie Mae Hodge, and Isabella "Sissy" Trantham; one brother, Johnny Trantham; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dale Wheeler, Reverend Jody Shuford, and Reverend Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Fulbright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Homestead, 127 Sunset Ridge, Clyde, NC 28721.
