Karen Grasty

Waynesville, Karen Rosela Grasty, age 55, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she is the daughter of Ella Mae Caldwell Grasty and the late Hilliard Ervin Grasty. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Ervin Grasty. Karen was loved by all who knew her. She had a sweet spirit and was a joy to be around and especially enjoyed children and animals. Karen enjoyed the outdoors and walked many miles around her home and truly enjoyed watching her gorgeous roses grow. During the Christmas season, a favorite time of year for Karen, she loved admiring all the beautiful lights. Karen was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Hugh Grasty of Fines Creek; uncle, Bobby Campbell and his wife, Linda, of Waynesville; a special uncle, Calvin Grasty of Waynesville; and also several beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Frank Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
