Karla Buchanan

Canton-Karla Elizabeth Buchanan, age 10, died on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. A native of Haywood County, she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Julian M. Buchanan, Sr. Karla was a student at Bethel Elementary School. She was a vivacious young girl and loved the Lord with all her heart and attended Bethel Elementary Bible Club. She enjoyed spending time with friends and her cats. Karla was an active member of Rocky Face Baptist Church. She is survived by her mother, Rebecca Garcia; grandparents, Fred Underwood and his wife, Deborah; great grandmother, Mary Ellen Buchanan; her twin sister, Kayla Michelle Buchanan; and a brother, Dante Nathaniel Buchanan all of Canton. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Reverend Donnie Henson, Donnie Buchanan and Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
