Kathleen Muse

Clyde-Kathleen Leanna Medford Muse, age 68, died on May 2, 2006 at Mission Hospital, Memorial Campus. A member of Allens Creek Baptist Church and a life-long resident of Haywood County, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Kenneth Muse, an infant son, Alden Ray Muse; her father and mother, Wayne W. and Fannie Chambers Medford of Clyde; a brother, Charles Brian Medford; and a sister, Janet Medford DeBruycker. Kathleen is survived by three daughters and their spouses: Donna Muse Smith and Ronnie Smith of Clyde, Kathy Muse Warren and James H. Warren of Clyde, and Sharon Muse Ledford and Brian Ledford of Gladespring, Virginia. Grandchildren include Tiffany N. Smith, Brandon K. Smith, Mackenzie L. Warren, Kari P. Warren, Hunter R. Ledford, and Morgan B. Ledford. Also included are a step granddaughter, Elizabeth Styles and spouse, Derrick Styles and two-step great-grandchildren, Elijah and Kaleb Styles. In addition, she is survived by three sisters, Ethel Medford Stuart of Clyde, Nancy Medford Wells of Canton, and Beulah Medford Zumwalt of Deer Park, Texas; three brothers, Robert T. Medford, George J. Medford, and Harold H. Medford, all of Clyde. Kathleen loved working with children and had a tender heart for the disadvantaged and developmentally challenged children that she worked with for sixteen years as a teacher assistant at Rock Hill and Jonathan Valley Elementary Schools in the Haywood County School System. The funeral will be held at Allens Creek Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2006 with Reverend Eddie Deitz officiating. The family will receive family and friends on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville, and at other times, the family will be at 5 Quail Street in Clyde. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to KARE (Kids Advocacy Resource Education), P.O. Box 1392, Waynesville, NC 28786.
