Kathleen Smith

Kathleen Crane Smith went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 16, 2008. The daughter of the late Ephraim Oliver Crane and Tresia Saine Crane, she was born on May 7, 1920 in Dahlonega, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mark Smith, two brothers, and three sisters. She was a member of the Canton High School graduating class of 1939. She was a dedicated Christian and a homemaker. She lived a life of service to her family and her Lord. She was a faithful member of Crestview Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Charles Ray Smith and his wife, Sue, of Canton and Jerry Mark Smith and his wife, Kathy, of Waynesville. She is also survived by five grand children; Stephen Brook, Mathew Bart, Jeremy Brad Smith of Canton, Jerry Mark Smith, Jr. of Asheville, and Laura Smith Berry of Decatur, Alabama. She is also survived by eight great grand children. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2008, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dean Clontz and Reverend Jerry Ensley officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
