Kathleen Ward

Kathleen McElreath Ward, age 88, died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Raleigh and Cordie Smith McElreath. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Perry Ward, who died in 1997; a grandson, Mark Ledford; and a sister Evelyn Lunsford. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Perry Lee Ward and his wife, Donna, of Aiken, SC; a daughter Ann Ledford and her husband, Robert, of Clyde; a sister, Clara Ledbetter of Glendale, CA; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Darrell Webb officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
