Kathryn Arrant

Waynesville, Kathryn Auberry Arrant, age 90, formerly of Haywood County passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. A native of Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Lillie Hampton Auberry. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Lomer B. Arrant, who died in 2011, and siblings, Frances Sanderson, Edith Ramsey, and Horace Auberry. Kathryn was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a member in good standing of the Eastern Star. She is survived by one son, Phillip Arrant, and his wife, Shirley of Fletcher, North Carolina; two daughters, Anita Kesler of Irmo, South Carolina, and Joy Bodnar of Kernersville, North Carolina; and two grandchildren, David Arrant and Amanda Kesler Ross. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Carrol Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. Eastern Star services will be conducted by the Sonoma Chapter 254 of the Eastern Star. The family will receive friends from 11:30 until 1:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
