Kathryn Mease

Kathryn Frady Mease, age 84, died on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Mark L. and Minnie Fox Frady. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grover C. "G. C." Mease, who died in 2008; three brothers, George, Glenn, and Ralph; and a sister, Grace. She was a member of West Canton Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Cathy Mease Free of Canton; a brother, Don Frady and his wife, Alice, of Waynesville; two grandchildren, Tara Smathers and her husband, Brent, and Jillian Ramey and her husband, Dean; five great-grandchildren, Ethan and Aaron Smathers; and Deanna, Jacob, and Daniel Ramey; her beloved poodle and best friend, "Toby"; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2012, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend George Holley, Reverend W. O. Henson, and Reverend Wallace Britt officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to West Canton Baptist Church, 75 Lowe Street, Canton, NC 28716.
