Kathy Ann Mull Mathis, age 52, of Haywood Dr. died Friday, December 7, 2007 at her home. She was a native of Haywood County and was preceded in death by her mother, Lucy Parker Mull and an infant brother Michael Mull. She was employed by Neighborhood Bible Studies as the Regional Director and a member of New Covenant Church. She was a devoted woman of God, and had a faith that was unshakable. Kathy helped with and assisted New Covenant with various ministries. She was a former Assistant Director with Haywood Christian Ministries. Kathy was the first Interfaith Community Coordinator for Haywood County. As the Regional Director of Neighborhood Bible Studies, she was one of only twelve employees in the world. She was pursing her doctorate in Theology. Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Kathy is survived by her husband of 26 years, Chuck Mathis; her father, Winifred Lee Mull; a son, Blake Scott and his wife, Lacie, of Canton; two daughters, Michelle Huston and her husband, Mark, of Candler and Sadie Simerly and her husband, Marty, of Maryville, TN;a sister, Paula Clark and her husband, Terry, of Canton; two brothers, Bryan Mull and Mark Mull, both of Canton; best friend, Pam Parris of Canton; and four grandchildren, Mark Huston II, Madilyn Huston, Dakota Scott and Joseph Scott. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2007 at New Covenant Church with the Reverend Nick Honerkamp officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.
