Kathy Rhinehart Peek

Kathy Rhinehart Peek passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. She was born on July 12, 1949, in Haywood County, North Carolina. Kathy's life was marked by dedication and service. She served as a Registered Nurse at Northside Hospital in Atlanta and later served as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. At the time of her retirement, she was serving as a Manager in Case Management and Lead Project Manager for Client Services for Cigna Insurance Company.

Kathy's commitment to her profession was paralleled by her love for her family and friends. She was an exceptional individual who touched the lives of many with her kind and unwavering support. In addition to her professional achievements, Kathy was an avid reader who found solace in the pages of books. She cherished moments spent with her grandchildren and found joy in the serenity of the beach.

Kathy's memory will forever be treasured by her surviving family: her loving husband of 49 years, Robert Cyr Peek; two daughters, Peyton Dellaporta, and Shannon Peek, both of Cartersville, Georgia; son-in-law, Bryan Heath of Cartersville, Georgia; her grandchildren, Samuel Brown Dellaporta and Bobby Dellaporta; her cousin and “heart sister”, Jo Nell Muth; cousin and “heart brother”, Randy Muth; Aunt Peggy Peek; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

In honoring Kathy's life, a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with “heart son”, John Kodatt officiating. A Professional Recognition Ceremony will be conducted by the North Carolina Nurses Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, McKay and Vivian McDowell Rhinehart, and her brother and best friend, Michael McKay Rhinehart. Though she may have departed this world, Kathy's legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
