Keith Robert Carney, 51, of Leicester passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Mission Hospital. A native of Bridgeport and Naugatuck, CT. He was the son of Robert and Marie (Lozada) Davis of Oxford, CT.
He worked as a Shift Supervisor for Optical Cable Corporation.
Keith was a man of many talents and interests. Informally but affectionally known as “Coach K” he never hesitated to share his knowledge or advice. Whether it was football, baseball, fixing cars…fixing anything or random trivia about his favorite NY sports teams, especially the Giants, you could count on Keith to speak up and participate. He cherished his old BMW and maybe loved tinkering with it even more. He loved all things 80’s, from the music to the TV shows; he had a great fondness for 80’s comedies which heavily influenced his funny and goofy side.
Above all, his greatest joy came from the tremendous love he had for his children. He did his best to show them his love, never missing an opportunity to tell them he loved them and that no matter how old they were, they would always be his babies.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved children, Ryan Carney of Leicester, Zachary and Alexis Carney both of Candler, as well as the mother of his children, Elena (Tikhonov) Carney and her extended family, his sister and brother in law, Melissa and Keith Corcoran of Oxford, CT, his brother Joel Landry of Watertown, CT, his nieces, Jordan Corcoran and Emily Landry and his nephews, Brandon Netto and Matthew Corcoran, his partner Carla Page of Leicester and her children, Lucas and Lauren.
A Celebration of Life officiated by Pastor Mikhail Tikhonov, will be held at 1:30PM on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral home located at 3715 Asheville Highway, Canton, NC. The family will receive friends at the Chapel from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. A Memorial will also take place in Connecticut at a future date.
The family would like to thank Keith’s colleagues at OCC for their assistance and support during his time of need.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The care of Mr. Carney has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
