Keith Ketner

Waynesville-Keith Dale Ketner, age 82, of 91 Nancy Lane, died on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary Shelton Ketner and was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Keith Ketner and two brothers, Kent "Bub" Ketner and Harold Ketner. He was a retired farmer from Haywood County and Tennessee and later worked as a tanner at A.C. Lawrence. He was co-owner of Harold-Ken-Dale Farm where he guided horse trail rides and wagon rides. He loved trading farm equipment, horses, and tack. He also loved his family and the family reunions and was a member of Dellwood/Maggie Valley United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wayco Plemmons Ketner; three daughters, Linda Evans and her husband, Jule, and Jean Smith, both of Waynesville, and Jane Vaughn and her husband, Larry, of China Grove, NC; three grandchildren, Karen Christiansen and her husband, Terry, Kevin Smith and his wife, Julie, and Elaine Thompson, and her husband, Jamie; and two great grandsons, Evan Christiansen and Dalton Smith. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Jeremy Troxler officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
