Keith Smith

"Loving Dad & Brother" Canton – Thurman Keith "Butch" Smith, 47, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at his residence. A native of Hall County, Georgia, Keith had lived most of his life in Haywood County and was a son of the late James Doyle and Lucy Ann Russell Smith. Keith was employed for 24 years in inventory control at Continental Teves. He was one of the biggest Georgia Bulldog fans you could meet. Keith was tender-hearted yet honest and will be remembered for "telling it like it is." He loved his family and friends and going forward they will cherish his memory in their hearts. He is survived by a daughter, Jessie Smith of Mars Hill; one son, Brian Smith of Canton; a sister, Donna Caldwell and husband, Ned, of Cruso; one brother, Greg Smith and wife, Melissa, of Asheville; one nephew, Tanner Smith; and one niece, Starr Marlor. A reception to remember Keith's life will be held from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Wells Events & Reception Center in Waynesville.
