Kenneth Best

Kenneth Paul Best, age 80, of the Beaverdam Community passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Carl and Estella Worley Best. He was also preceded in death by a brother, J. R. Best. He was dedicated to his work as a self employed farmer and builder. Kenneth was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved coon hunting. He will be remembered as being a kind-hearted and gentle soul who loved and adored each member of his family. He was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patsy Scott Best; a son, Daniel Best and his wife, Jennifer; a daughter, Regina Carver all of Canton; a brother, Carroll Best and his wife, Lucy, of Canton; three sisters, Marie Byers and her husband, Joe, of Clyde, Bobbie King and her husband, Doyle, of Canton, and Frances Cook and her husband, Bill, of Canton; four grandchildren, Nathan Best and his wife, Shannon, Jacob Carver, Kendra Carver, and Chance Best; two great-grandchildren, Colton and Lathin Best; and many nieces and nephews and a host of special friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Beaverdam Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack Scott officiating and Reverend Gene Worley assisting. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
