Kenneth Mayhew

December 10, 1926 — June 12, 2004

Canton - Kenneth Taylor Mayhew, age 77, died Saturday, June 12, 2004 at his residence. He was a native of Iredell County and had lived in Haywood County for the past 18 years. He was the son of the late Clarence Taylor and Evangeline Pennell Mayhew. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Rogers. He was a member of Canton First United Methodist Church and a United States Army veteran serving during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sue Fleming Mayhew of Canton; three daughters, Nancy Koonce of Key West, FL, Donna Honeycutt of Four Oaks, NC and Rebecca Lasine of Reidsville, NC; a sister, Carolyn McLean and a brother Donald Mayhew both of Mooresville, NC; three granddaughters, Susan Honeycutt, Kristina Honeycutt and Stacy Jones. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 13th at Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Canton. Funerals services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2004 at Iredell Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Statesville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the services in the mausoleum chapel. Memorials may be made to Canton First United Methodist Church, 29 Newfound Street, Canton, NC 28716.
