Kenneth Williams

February 23, 1934 — January 28, 2008

Kenneth Earl Williams, age 73, died Monday, January 28, 2008, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home with his family by his side. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of the late Jesse and Mary Crawford Williams. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Kay Williams, two brothers, and two sisters. He was a carpenter for over 30 years working with Michael Crawford and attended New Hope Church of God. Earl had a love of flowers and birds. He enjoyed the outdoors and had a great sense of humor. In addition to his wife of 56 years, Lucille Stepp Williams, he is survived by five daughters, Earlene Millington and her husband, Butch, of Canton, Patricia W. Webb and her husband, Steve, of Clyde, Betty W. Gaddis of Canton, Sandy W. Harkins and Joe Jones, of Maggie Valley, and Mary Ann Crider and her fiancé, David Gibson, of Canton; and seven grandchildren, Sharon Turner, Christa and Cameron Blake, Brandon Gaddis, Cassie and Halee Crider, and Nathaniel Webb . Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Timothy L. Howard and Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Gwyn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 107 Turtle Springs Road.
