Kent Rogers

Kent Douglas Rogers, age 19, died on Sunday, December 20, 2009, from complications of Deuchennes' Muscular Dystrophe, at his residence. Born in Savannah, GA, he was the son of Keila Dills Rogers of Clyde and Douglas Milton Rogers, also of Clyde. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ernest Dills, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Jane DeSaulles and Gene Rogers; an uncle, Stuart Rogers; and an aunt, Marsha Mascarenas. He was attending Haywood Community College working on acquiring an applied science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technologies. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Lauren Denise Rogers of Lynchburg, VA; his maternal grandmother, Audrey Dills of Clyde; aunts and uncles, Myra Higdon and her husband, Denton, of Franklin; Elizabeth McCracken and her husband, Bill, of Clyde, and Ignacio "Nano" Mascarenas of Clyde; and many cousins and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Reverend Cliff Hannah officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Donations may be made in memoriam to a charity of your choice.
