Clyde – Kevin Blaine Childers, 56, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at his residence.
Kevin was a native of Buncombe County and a son of the late Blaine and Sylvia Ann Austin Childers. He retired, with 17 years of service, from the Town of Weaverville Public Works in February of 2020 and was formerly employed with the City of Asheville Water Department for 13 years. Kevin enjoyed the outdoors and nature. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and farmer. Nothing was more important to Kevin than his family, being a devoted and loving husband, father and PaPaw.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Karen Michele King Childers; one daughter, Kisha Michele Childers Todd and husband, Bryan Christopher, of Canton; one son, Kevin Blaine Childers, Jr. and wife, Annemieke Childers, of Hendersonville; two sisters, Debbie Morgan and husband, Phil, of Candler and Jennifer Childers of Asheville; three grandchildren, Emelia Ann Childers, Kevin Braydin and Mark Brycin Todd.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2020 at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road with the Reverend Jerry Wheeler and Reverend Elisha Fish officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
