Kristy Lanning

Waynesville, Kristy Mae Lanning, age 34, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013. She lived most of her life in Haywood County and received her Associate's Degree in Information Technology from Southwest Community College. Kristy was a former employee of Haywood County as the Director of Information Technology and Communications and was currently employed at Time Warner in Greensboro. She was a member of Allens Creek Baptist Church. Kristy is survived by her children, James Dakota Lanning, Makayla Cheyanne Lanning and Anna Grace Wood, all of Waynesville; her father Charles R. Lanning and his wife, Sharon, of Waynesville; her mother, Lynda Colgan of Winston-Salem; a sister, Rebecca Mashburn and her husband, Jay, of Waynesville; her paternal grandmother, Hazel Lanning, of Waynesville; and a niece and nephew, Avery and Alex Mashburn. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Allens Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Eddie Deitz officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
