Lane Worley

Lane Calvin Worley, age 62, died Friday December 7, 2007 at the St. Joseph campus of Mission Hospital, with family by his side. He was the son of the late William and Lizzie Parham Worley. He worked at BASF for 35 years as a machinist; he sang with the Happy Travelers for 16 years and served as music director at Bethel Baptist Church for 15 years. He also sang with the Bethel Road Quartet. He is survived by his beloved wife, Geneva Trull Worley; a son, Calvin Worley and his wife, Melissa, of Canton; two sisters, Lois Smith and Lorene Edwards and her husband, Charles, all of Canton; and a granddaughter, Megan Elane Worley. A Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday December 9, 2007 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:30 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Bethel Christian Academy Athletic Dept., 100 Park Street, Canton, NC 28716.
