Larry Douglas Chambers, 78, passed away on January 17, 2021 following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
A native of Haywood County, he was son of the late James Lynn and Edna Reece Chambers. In addition, he was also preceded in death by his brother, James Bryan Chambers.
Larry worked as a produce farmer in the Bethel community until his retirement in 2012. He was a lifelong member of Riverside Baptist Church in Waynesville.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruth McCracken Chambers; son, Douglas Chambers; sister, Phyllis Gaddis (John) and three brothers, Charles (Catherine), Ronald (Janet), and Ray (Evelyn) and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Upper Crabtree Cemetery. The Reverends Steve Frazier and Kristopher Estep will officiate.
The Chambers family would like to thank Larry’s hospice nurses, Chelsea and Stephanie, for their care and thoughtfulness.
