Larry Hoglen

Larry H. Hoglen Candler – Larry Harrel Hoglen , age 67, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the VA Center in Asheville. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Harrel and Willadean Hoglen. He was also preceded in death by a son, Bradley Hoglen. He was a Vietnam veteran in the US Air Force. Larry was owner and operator of Hominy Valley Auto Parts. Larry enjoyed working on cars, being outdoors, NASCAR and racing drag cars. He was a member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Wells Hoglen; two sons, Brian Hoglen and Brandon Hoglen of Candler; a brother, Edward Hoglen of Candler; three grandchildren, Abigail Hoglen, Katelyn Montgomery and Rhys Hoglen. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Snow Hill United Methodist Church with the Reverend Diana Johnston and Reverend Carrol Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
