Larry King

Larry Douglas King, age 57, died Thursday, August 6, 2009, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Kelly and Euphia Robinson King. He was a former employee of Steelcase of Asheville. Doug was a member of the Smoky Mountain Harley Owner's Group, Chapter #3533. He was an accomplished drummer and played with several area bands. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Sherry Foster King; a son, Zachary King of the home; a daughter, Misty King of Simpsonville, SC; three sisters, Keitha Oldham and her husband, David, of Waynesville, Karen Burgess and her husband, Phil, and Kathy King all of Canton; three brothers, Doyle King and his wife, Wanda, and David King all of Canton, and Donald King of Palmetto, GA. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2009, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Donnie Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of his brother, Doyle King, 41 Hillview Drive, Canton.
