Canton, Larry Scott Moore, age 66, of the Bethel Community, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at The Homestead. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of Paul D. and Elizabeth Parris Moore. He was preceded in death by one sister, Kay Boswell, and two brothers, Dewey and Berry Moore. Larry was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era and worked as a self-employed contractor. He enjoyed spending time outdoors especially fishing and truly loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He also loved and adored his cocker spaniel, Princess. He is survived by three sons, Scott Moore and his wife, Tonya, and Tony Moore and his wife, Stephanie, all of Canton and Keith Moore and his wife, Jamie, of Waynesville; two sisters, Colette Parkins and her husband, Alan, of Clyde and Kathy Moore, of Hickory; two brothers, Wayne Moore and his wife, Nancy, and Butch Moore, of Canton; nine grandchildren, Camden, Reece, Brenna, Jason, Tyler, Aaron, Abby, Brandon, and Amanda Moore; many nieces and nephews; and his special cocker spaniel, Princess. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jimmy Trantham and Reverend Jeremy Cagle officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to services at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
