Laura Hardin

July 31, 1951 — July 31, 2010

Waynesville, Laura Neal Hardin, age 59, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Lois Morgan Hardin and the late William Medford Hardin, who died in 1993. She was a client of Haywood Vocational Opportunities for the past 28 years and was involved in the Arc of Haywood County, both of which were dear to her heart. She loved playing bingo and also loved cats. Laura was considered an "angel among us" because of her warm smile and personality. Laura always saw the good in everyone and had a servant's heart. She was very generous, always thinking of others and putting them before herself. She was a member of Clyde First Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Dr. William Dan Hardin of Pembroke Pines, Florida; an aunt, Betty Morgan Conway of Asheville; and uncles, Jon R. Morgan of Clyde and Charles Morgan of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Clyde First Baptist Church with the Reverend David Phillips and the Reverend James Parham officiating. Entombment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arc of Haywood County, 407 Welch Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
