Laura Longley

Laura Elizabeth Longley (nee Williams) fell asleep in Jesus on Monday, October 20, in Canton, North Carolina. Mrs. Longley, age 98, was born in Rock Spring, Georgia. Most of her life was spent in the Chattanooga area; she lived in Western North Carolina the past seventeen years. She was a member of the Mount Pisgah Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mrs. Longley was predeceased by her husband, John D. Longley. She was a Mother and homemaker and is survived by her two sons, Samuel D. Longley (Peggy) of Melbourne, FL, and Charlotte, NC, and Max B. Longley (Jean) of Canton, NC, and Tavares, FL. She is also survived by four grandchildren – Lisa Leatherwood (Bob) of Waynesville, NC; Samuel D. (Chip) Longley, Jr. (Ann) of Walnut Creek, Ca; Melissa Haynes (Dennis) of Melbourne, FL; Jodi Pierce (Guy) of High Point, NC; nine great grandchildren; and special friend and caretaker, Jane Reese. Funeral services will be private; interment will be in Rock Spring, Georgia.
