Laura Simmonds

Waynesville-Laura Simmonds, age 79, of Killian Street, died on Monday, March 13, 2006 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Ralph and Julia Ann SmithWinchester and was also preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Dills, and two brothers, Ben and Edward Winchester. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Waynesville and had gone on three missions trips for the church with her husband. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Simmonds; a daughter, Jennifer McClure and husband, Phillip, of Waynesville; a son, James Henry B. Simmonds and wife, Tammy, of Preston, ID; a sister, Dorothy Miller and husband, John, of GA; nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints of Waynesville with Bishop Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Fulbright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
