April 29, 1929 — December 26, 2010

Waynesville, Laura Lucille "Sister" Underwood, age 81, passed away, Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Jerry and Harriett Curtis Underwood and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Howell and a sister, Hattie U. Webb Hyder. She was a homemaker and a member of Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church. She is survived by two nieces, Doris Wyatt and her husband Leon of Waynesville and Joretta White of Candler; nephew, Clifford Underwood and his wife Yong of Peoria, Arizona; great-nephew, Andy Fullbright of Waynesville and numerous other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Reverend Jay Jones and Reverend David Plemmons will officiate. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
