Laura Yarborough

Waynesville, Laura Bell Parris Yarborough, age 93, of Yarborough Street, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Garrison and Annie Mull Parris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Yarborough, who died in 2007; a daughter, Nancy Yarborough; and two sons, Wayne and Willard Yarborough. Laura loved spending time with her family and having lively conversation. She also enjoyed going camping, sewing and shopping and was of the Free Methodist faith. Laura is survived by a son, John Yarborough and his wife, Effie, of Waynesville; a brother, Tommy Parris, of Waynesville; daughter-in-laws, Patsy and Linda Yarborough; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a special friend and cousin, Thelma Gaddis. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Ronnie Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
