Lavina Barkby

Clyde-Lavina Reynolds Barkby, age 92, of 197 Mulberry Street and formerly of Canton, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

She was a daughter of the late Howard and Mary Belle Phillips Reynolds and the wife of the late Wilbur "Buck" Barkby who died in 1993. She was employed by Bell Telephone and the Canton Army Store and was a member of the Canton Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Martha Hardin and her husband Steve of Clyde, one son, Brian Barkby and his wife Elaine of New Eagle, PA, one sister, Bernice McDonald of Monongahela, PA and 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Hardin of Charlotte, Cameron Hardin of Clyde, Laura Stopka of Amity, PA and Scott Barkby of New Eagle, PA.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003 at The Horizon at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde with Reverend James Hart and Reverend Christopher Westmoreland officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service at The Horizon.
