Canton – Lawrence “Buck” Thomason, Jr., 84, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at his residence.
Buck was a native and life-long resident of Haywood County and a son of the late Lawrence and Scottie Stamey Thomason. He was employed for 16 years at WNC Pallet and for 19 years at Lea Industries. Buck was a United States Army veteran and a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Brookshire Thomason; one daughter, Lisa Brock (Steven), of Salem, Massachusetts; two sons, Phillip Thomason (Pam), of Canton and Tony Thomason of Waynesville; two sisters, Katherine Whitaker and Wanda Murray, both of Canton; two brothers, Sherrill Thomason of Parrottsville, Tennessee and Bruce Thomason of Canton; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2020 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Barry Clark and Reverend Steven Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
