Lawrence Wilkes

Clyde – Lawrence Ervin Wilkes, 84, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at his residence.

Ervin was a native of Hoke County, North Carolina and a son of the late John Daniel and Mamie Christian Currie Wilkes.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Matthews Wilkes, who died in 2014 and a son, Ricky Ervin Wilkes.

He is survived by a daughter, Debbie Odom and her husband, Reverend Dr. Mike Odom of Canton; a sister, Peggy Inman and husband, Dewey, of Raeford, North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Shirley Wilkes of Wagram, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Michelle Odom Ruff and husband, Bryan, of Canton and Danielle Odom Snyder of Waynesville; and one great-grandchild, Riley “Tater Bug” James.

At Ervin’s request, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
