Lawson Anders, Jr.

Canton, Lawson Alexander Anders, Jr., age 89, of Anders Drive, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Smoky Mountain Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Lawson Alexander Anders, Sr. and Vera Lee Pressley Anders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Brantley Anders, who died in 1999. Lawson was a former employee of Haywood County Schools and retired from Coca-Cola, where he worked in the maintenance department. He is survived by a son, Dale Anders and his wife, Pat, of Waynesville; a daughter, Linda Boone and her husband, Johnny, of Weaverville; one sister, Frances Miller, of Canton; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jason Miller and Reverend Steve Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 prior to services.
