Laymon Doyle Guthrie

Laymon Doyle Guthrie, Jr. of East Asheville passed away at home on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at the age of 78, surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 29th at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Lolly officiating. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 31st at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler.

Laymon was a salesman for Suburban Propane and Wurth Automotive. He loved his family, gardening and Nascar.

Laymon was preceded in death by his parents, Clara Beatrice Metcalf Guthrie and Laymon Doyle Guthrie, Sr; and siblings, Boyd, JoAnn, Kay and Charles. 

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beverly; daughters, Christy and Sonja; son, Kevin; sisters, Evelyn, Patricia, and Lib; brother, Grant; and grandchildren, Justin, Roric and Freya. 

The care of Mr. Guthrie has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
