"A Thoughtful Loving Lady"
Canton - In the early morning hours of Monday, December 11, 2017 a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Eva Lee Bledsoe Hamilton, passed away peacefully at Silver Bluff Village.
Lee was the youngest and last living child of a family of nine children born on December 16, 1929 to her late parents, Ellis and Cora Peiffer Bledsoe. In addition to her parents, Lee was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslee Hamilton Neely. Lee was born in Cabool, Missouri and graduated from Tech High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Lee and her husband, Earl Frank Hamilton met while attending a wedding ceremony. Six months later Lee and Earl had their own wedding ceremony and were blessed to be wed for 69 years. Lee was a former resident of Indianapolis, Indiana and Cape Coral, Florida and had resided in Canton since 1998. While living in Indianapolis, Lee was employed as an Activities Director in a nursing home. Being a well-organized person, Lee directed 45 volunteers to provide craft, music and fellowship for the residents of Northwest Manor. Lee enjoyed many outdoor activities in addition to gardening, knitting, canning and helping people. Lee's family will also remember her as an exceptional cook. She volunteered to cook and provide meals for those in need during the floods in Canton. Lee was a very kind person that knew no enemies and also possessed a great sense of humor. She was a former member of Canton First Baptist Church and current member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Lee is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Earl Frank Hamilton; a son, Bert Frank Hamilton and his wife, Alicia, of Canton; a son-in-law, Jeff Neely and his wife, Tina; of Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren, Rachael Coverdale and her husband, Tom, of Fishers, Indiana, Lani Hamilton, of Kansas City, Missouri, and James Hamilton and his wife, Jasmine, of Canton; and four great-grandchildren, Decker and Addison Coverdale, Jayden Hamilton and Justin Pina.
A memorial service celebrating Lee's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Jeff King officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
