Lela Mull

Waynesville-Lela Mae Rathbone Mull, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2006 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lura Mae Parton Rathbone. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Mull, who died in 1995. She was a member of Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Julie Hicks and Lela Franklin, both of Waynesville; three sons, Billy Mull and his wife, Sue, and Joe Mull, both of Waynesville, and Hugh Mull and his wife, Carrie, of Gaffney, SC; 14 grandchildren, Lela Evans, Mark Hicks, Joey, Shannon, Crystal, and Danny Mull, Laura Fowler, Joe Mull, Jr., Michael and Gary Martinez, Elaine Lathan, Chase and Tricia Evans, and Michael Stamey; 19 great-grandchildren; and a special thanks to HRMC Hospice and Janie Franklin, Julie Hicks, and Lela Evans. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Anthony Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Fulbright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home, and at other times, at the family residence. Serving as pallbearers will be Joey and Shannon Mull, Gary Martinez, Ralph Wyatt, and William "Ed" Vaughn.
