Lena Wilson

Waynesville, Lena Jo Ruff Cope Wilson, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Skyland Care Center in Sylva. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Adam Crawford and Hester Cutshaw Ruff. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, John C. Cope who died in 1974 and second husband, Virgil Lynn Wilson who died in 1990; one son, Robert Daniel Cope; a daughter, Donna Snyder; three sisters and two brothers. Lena was a retired Sales Clerk from Carver�s Cloth Shop and a member of East Waynesville Baptist Church. Lena and her daughter, Donna started Haywood Christian Ministries Thrift Store. She worked jigsaw puzzles and made Crosses in the Pocket which she gave out over 350. She is survived by a daughter, Hester Jenkins and her husband, Gary, of Stecoah, NC; one son, Johnny E. Cope and wife, Joyce, of Waynesville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
