Leona Caylor

Waynesville, Amanda Leona Dills Caylor, age 89, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at MedWest- Haywood. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Lucious Taylor and Ruthie Amanda Davis Dills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie B. Caylor, who died in 1991; a granddaughter, Terri Denise; and five brothers and seven sisters. Leona was a seamstress for many years. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, making fried apple pies, biscuits; and spending quality time with her family. She is survived by four sons, Albert Hayden Caylor and his wife, Glenda, of Murphy, NC, Willard Lucious Caylor and his wife, Alice, of Denver, NC; Paul David Caylor and his wife, Laurel, of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Thomas Wayne Caylor and his wife, Vickie, of Waynesville; two daughters, Martha Joanne Evans and her husband, Don, of Waynesville; Mary Louise Caylor of Greensboro, NC; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Scotty Rollins officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
