Leona Riddle

Canton- Leona Mary Riddle - age 91 died Monday, July 10, 2006 at the Brian Center of Waynesville. She was a native of Jackson County but had resided in Haywood County for a number of years. She was a daughter of the late John and Eva Gibson Fore. Mrs. Riddle was preceded in death by her husband, R.T. Riddle who died in 1993; a son, Richard "Sonny" Riddle, and two brothers, Lester and Willie Fore and one sister, Mattie Fore. Mrs. Riddle was employed by John Graham Store as a clerk and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She loved attending Riverside Baptist Church and during her stay at the Brian Center, she enjoyed Bingo. Leona also watched a variety of game shows in her spare time and loved to fish. She is survived by one grandson, Joe Riddle and his wife, Jennifer, of Darlington, SC; four nephews, James Fore, and his wife, Brenda, of Cruso, Gary Fore and his wife, Nancy of Annapolis, MD, Gregg Fore and his wife, Margaret, of Brevard and Bob Fore and his wife, Mary, of Winchester, VA; one niece, Pat Mull of Winchester, VA; caregiver, Barbara Reynolds and her husband, C.J. of Clyde and numerous other nieces and nephews by marriage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2006 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby and Reverend Charles Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
