Leona Seay

Canton-Leona Jane Ledford Seay, age 96, of 839 Buckeye Cove Road, died Saturday, July 5, 2003 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center.

She was a native of Madison County and was the daughter of the late William and Harriet Cogdill Ledford. She was the wife of the late Lonzo Seay who died in 1975. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Medford; three step-daughters and five step-sons.

She was a member of Woodland Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Irene Cope of Canton; 13 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2003 at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Homes. The Reverend Bruce Cayton will officiate. Burial will follow at Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of the daughter, 839 Buckeye Cove Road, Canton.
