Leonard Kyle

Canton- Leonard Orville "L.O." Kyle - age 86, of 33 Ballew Street, died Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at his residence. He was a native of Haleyville, Alabama but had resided in Haywood County for 57 years. He was a son of the late William Monroe and Sarah Frances Reynolds Kyle and the husband of the late Georgetta Baity Kyle who died July 7, 2003. Mr. Kyle was also preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Kyle and three sisters, Verna Turner, Linda Walker and Mamie Allen. He was employed by Standard Coffee for 34 years and was manager of Smile Oil Company of Canton for 10 years. Mr. Kyle was one of the oldest living members of Beulah Baptist Church. Among many positions held in the church, he served as deacon, choir director, SS teacher and treasurer. He is survived by six children and their spouses, Gail and Jerry Moore of Brevard, Ellen and Bruce Moore of Canton, Susan and Jim Taylor of Pensacola, FL and Anne and Stan Riddle of Clyde, George Kyle of Corpus Christi, TX and Michael and Jeanette Kyle of Canton; 14 grandchildren, Donald, Curtis, Brian, Perry and Andy Moore, Kyla Rich, Greg and Sean Kyle, Kym Langevine, Allen Taylor, Sara Hawthorne, Faith Kyle, Ryan and Jared Riddle.; 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2005 at Beulah Baptist Church with the Reverend Matthew Pruett, Reverend Virgil Holloway and Reverend Curtis Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on the Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at the church where the body will remain until the time of service on Saturday. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. At other times, the family will be at the home.
