Lester Eavenson

December 17, 1917 — January 15, 2006

Waynesville-Lester Holcomb Eavenson, age 88, of 365 Golf Course Road, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at the Brian Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Holcomb and Addie Arrington Eavenson. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Tom Eavenson and two sisters, Emma Bialeck and Elsie Davis. He was a retired supervisor of Lea Industries. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Eavenson; one daughter, Glenda Eavenson Stokes of Greer, SC; two sons, David T. Eavenson and his wife, Ann, and Ronald L. Eavenson and his wife, Brenda, all of Waynesville; four sisters, Lucille Rogers of Asheville, Geneva Melton and her husband, Rufus, of Waynesville, Jean Gibson of Johnson City, TN, and Susie Pressley and her husband, Ralph, of Ocala, FL; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren;and a special niece and nephew Leslie McClure and Scott Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Taylor. Interment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service.
