Letha Pinkerton

Candler – Letha Burnette Pinkerton, age 89, formerly of Candler passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Aston Park Health Care Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late John and Pearl Singleton Burnette. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dutch A. Pinkerton, who died in 2011 and a son, Michael Keith Pinkerton, who died in 2005. Letha was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Dixon and her husband, Sam, of Memphis, Tennessee and Sherry Young and her husband, Ernest, of Candler; a son, Ricky Pinkerton of Candler; a daughter-in-law, Susan Pinkerton of Statesville, North Carolina; a sister, Emmaline Davis of Canton; a brother, J. C. Burnette of Canton; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Pole Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Dennis Thurman officiating. Burial will follow at Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Pole Creek Baptist Church, 96 Snow Hill Church Road, Candler, NC 28715.
