Lethea Novella Singleton, age 76, went home to heaven on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was born on July 1, 1934 to the late Claude M. Singleton and Virlee Chambers Singleton. Lethea was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and retired form Champion International with 29 years of service. She was an avid fan of sports and loved watching the games on T.V. or in person. Lethea loved watching game shows and working crossword puzzles. She always had a kind word for everyone but, most of all she loved spending time with all her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Singleton and a sister, Iris Thompson. She is survived by a daughter, Dinese Chavez and her husband, Cutberto, of Canton; one granddaughter, Heather Parks of Canton; one grandson, Greg Parks and his wife, Amanda of Madison County; and one brother, Charles Singleton and his wife, Willene of Canton. Also surviving are adopted grandchildren, Chelsea Robinson and Haley Simon and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Larry Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the home of Charles and Willene Singleton, 261 Rocky Branch Road, Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood County Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721 or to Haywood County Rescue Squad - Canton, P.O.
