Clyde, Lewis A. Kirkpatrick, age 86, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2011 in Knoxville, TN. Lewis was a native of Haywood County, prior to moving to Seymour, Tennessee in 2005. He was the son of the late Jeptha Lewis and Bertha Russell Kirkpatrick. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Cora Leigh Kirkpatrick who died in 1986; three sisters; five brothers and a grandson, Kevin Kirkpatrick. He was a United States Navy veteran having served in WWII. Lewis retired as a guard with 31 years service from the NC Department of Correction. He was founder and a very active member of Panther Creek Baptist Church. Lewis loved music and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife of six years, Reva Kirkpatrick; son Robert Kirkpatrick and his wife, Pat, of Waynesville; three daughters, Barbara Price, of Newport, Tennessee, Vivian Hill and her husband, Ronnie, of Clyde and Deborah Kirkpatrick of Newport, Tennessee; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Panther Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Ferguson and Reverend Ronald Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Panther Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
