Canton - Lewis Maurice Lewis, age 50, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A life-long resident of Haywood County, Lewis was the son of David Kenneth Lewis and Rebecca Case Queen. He was preceded in death by his brother, David William Lewis; maternal grandfather, Andy Case; paternal grandfather, Bill Lewis; paternal grandmother, Mary Lewis; and aunt, Marsha Case Young. Lewis loved old cars, model cars, and guns. He also enjoyed reading, loved American History, and studied his Bible daily.

He is survived by his father, David Kenneth Lewis of Canton; mother, Rebecca Case Queen of Canton; a son, Micah Dylan Lewis of Concord, NC; a daughter, Emily Ann Lewis of Canton; a sister, Anna Queen Swingle and her husband, Joe, of Candler; a niece, Rhylee Swingle of Candler; maternal grandmother, Martha Case of Canton; an aunt, Kathy Case Thompson and her husband, Tony, of Johnson City, TN; an uncle, Mack Young of Canton; and a cousin, Bryan Young of Canton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Nicole Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Community Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
