Lila Jackson

April 12, 1924 — September 7, 2007

Lila Mae Watts Jackson, age 83, died Friday, September 7, 2007, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late James Burton and Velda Burnette Watts. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jack C. Jackson, who died in 1992. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Raymond and Noland Watts and a daughter, Geraldine Jackson. Lila was a member of North Canton Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was well involved within the church. She is survived by a son, Johnny C. Jackson and his wife, Marie, of Lorton, VA; a brother, Normand Watts and his wife, Marie, of Elizabeth City, NC; and two grandsons, Chad and Matt Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Canton with Reverend Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to North Canton Baptist Church, 735 North Canton Road, Canton, NC 28716.
