Lillian Shelton

Marion, Lillian Marie Rhinehart Shelton, age 86, of Matilda Avenue, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Autumn Care of Marion. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Lucy Henry Rhinehart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Seldon Eugene Shelton, who died in 2003 and her sons, Donnie and Bobby Shelton. Lillian was a former employee of Clyde Green's Restaurant and a member of Faith Tabernacle in Marion. Lillian is survived by four daughters, Peggy Thomas (Raymond), Mary Jo Mace Sexton (Dennis), Patricia Noel (Ralph) and Linda Gail Prince, all of Marion; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Pete McCombs officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road in Canton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
